The way we produce and consume energy is changing

In response to the challenges of climate change and energy security, cleaner sources of energy such as wind, solar, biomass and biofuels are being developed across the world. The diverse, distributed nature of these new energy supplies creates huge opportunities for improved small scale energy conversion technologies.

At the same time, demand for transport and other energy-consuming activities is rising fast, especially in the emerging consumer markets of Asia and South America. Different design and manufacturing approaches are needed to make the best use of new fuels and to reduce waste wherever energy is converted.

Libertine FPE is a start-up formed in 2009 that is developing novel engine generator technology for this new world. We have drawn on decades of experience in the automotive and motorsport industries, consumer product engineering and low cost manufacturing techniques. The result is a simple, reliable and quiet engine concept that has the potential to dramatically increase the efficiency of vehicles and small power generators at lower cost than today’s technologies. We are currently working to make Libertine’s patented engine concept a reality.
